Andrew Wilson represents clients in commercial and civil rights matters. His commercial practice has included securities fraud, contract, antitrust, intellectual property, and merger litigation. His civil rights practice has included First and Fourth Amendment litigation, employment discrimination, constitutional litigation, children’s rights, and political asylum.

Mr. Wilson joined the firm in 2005. He received his B.A. from Harvard College in 1996, where he graduated magna cum laude, received the John Harvard Scholarship, Bowdoin Prize for English Composition and Barbara Miller Solomon Prize. He received his L.L.B. from the University of Toronto where he was a Senior Editor of the Law Review, and received the Lang Michener Prize in Property Law. Mr. Wilson was an associate at Simpson Thacher and Bartlett LLP. He clerked for the Hon. Harold A. Ackerman of the District of New Jersey. Mr. Wilson has also worked at Tory Tory DesLauriers & Binnington in Toronto, at the World Health Organization in Geneva, and at Profamilia Legal Services in Bogota. He is a director of Equitas.

Representative Matters

Ford Models, Inc. v. Next Management, LLC: Represents a leading model management agency in multiple litigations and an arbitration before the American Arbitration Association alleging that a competitor agency tortiously interfered with Ford’s contracts with its models.

Grace v. Corbis-Sygma: In a case involving the loss of over 40,000 photographic images, represented a renowned photojournalist in a landmark appeal before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit that established a new standard for the valuation of lost images.

Conte v. Newsday: Represents a newspaper publisher in defense of a suit brought by a purported competitor asserting claims under the RICO statute, the Lanham Act, and the Sherman Act.

Anemone v. MTA: Represents a former Director of Security of the Metropolitan Transit Authority in a First Amendment retaliation action claiming that he was dismissed for making statements to the New York Times.

Higazy v. Templeton: Represented an Egyptian student who was falsely accused of involvement in the September 11 attacks in an historic case that further defined the scope of the Fifth Amendment right against self-incrimination in bail proceedings.

Alcor v. Johnson: Represents the author of the book Frozen in defense of defamation-related claims arising from the publication of a whistleblower book criticizing a cryogenics company.

Toussie v. Coastal Development LLC: Represented a casino developer in a multi-million-dollar contract dispute with two of its investors.

Reyes v. Banco de Chile: Represented a Chilean business in opposition to an emergency application to freeze its bank accounts in New York arising from a Latin American partnership dispute.

Penguin Books: Represents a leading publisher in the vetting of manuscripts for legal issues including defamation and copyright.
