  • The Firm regularly reviews works of fiction and nonfiction for Penguin Putnam, a division of Pearson, prior to publication, to ensure that all legal issues have been considered and addressed (especially potential defamation), while upholding the integrity of the author’s work. We also provide counseling on copyright, publicity rights, and related issues as they arise.

  • The Firm represents numerous writers and journalists in connection with book, television, and movie contracts, as well as related disputes. Among the Firm’s notable clients are former ABC news correspondent John Miller, author Pete Hamill, local television journalist Gabe Pressman, and ABC television producer Chris Isham.

  • In The Pillsbury Company v. Uppercrust Ltd., the Firm is representing a large Canadian manufacturer of food products before the Second Circuit Court of Appeals in in a labeling dispute brought by a multinational corporate competitor.

  • In a matter resolved confidentially prior to the initiation of a lawsuit, the Firm represented a noted photojournalist in a dispute with a major television network involving the unauthorized use of photographs from Ground Zero.
