The Firm has represented plaintiffs and defendants in a number of commercial disputes between and among business partners involving allegations of breaches of contract and fiduciary duties. Cases include:
- NYRealty v. IPI Financial Services, Inc. et al.: We successfully represented a large mortgage brokerage against a multi-million dollar claim that it had entered into and breached a partnership agreement with another company regarding online mortgage sales. The Firm tried the case and won a defense verdict from an arbitration panel.
- Brustein v. Alterman et al.: The Firm obtained a favorable settlement on behalf of an orthodontist who alleged that his former partners wrongfully expelled him from his dental practice in violation of a partnership agreement and in violation of their fiduciary duties.
- Sutton v. A.D. Sutton & Sons et al.: The Firm represented the majority directors of a fourth-generation manufacturing company in a partnership dispute with a minority director. The case resulted in an amicable settlement.
